George Yvon Sirois

George Yvon Sirois, 83, died on Sunday, April 21, 2024, in Merrimack. George was born July 23, 1940, to the late Leopold and Yvonne Sirois. George was married to the late Barbara Ann (Melton) Sirois. He graduated Nashua High School in 1958 and entered the US Navy, where he served honorably as an Electricians’ Mate until 1964. He met the love of his life, Barbara, and they were married October 12, 1963 in Nashua. After active duty in the Navy, he worked at the Nashua Corporation for over 30 years and was then custodian (aka George the Janitor) at the Charlotte Avenue School before his retirement. George enjoyed woodworking and was known as “Mr. Fix-It”, as he could repair just about anything. Besides his wife and parents, George was predeceased by several sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanine and Norman Beaudry, Yolande and Jim Dobens, Pauline and George Oswald and Dorothy Sirois. George is survived by two sisters, Mariette Sirois, Aline Blanchette and her husband William, three daughters and sons-in law, Michelle and Phil Plante, Debra and Ken Lupien, Amy and Mark Carter, four grandchildren, Joshua Plante and his wife Jessica, Lindsay Parkinson and her husband Evan, Jaimee Carter and Jesse Carter. One great grandson, Benjamin Plante, as well as many nieces and nephews.
