Lon Woods

Lon Woods, 82, long time resident of Merrimack, NH passed away on April 16th, 2024. He was one of Merrimack’s most dedicated public servants, a Nashua educator, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Committed to the idea of leaving things better than one finds them, Lon was most proud of his decade-long tenure as the Principal of Dr. Crisp Elementary School in Nashua, NH. Little made him happier than his adventures with his wife, Kathryn, spending time with his children, grandsons, and playing golf. Sadly, he was predeceased by his parents, Max, and Etta (Shaffer) Woods, his brother Colin Woods, and his treasured wife of 46 years, Kathryn (Herold) Woods. Lon is survived by his two daughters, Amy Woods and her husband Joshua Sirois, and Ashleigh Lowe and her husband Christopher; two grandsons, Alexander and Simon; and siblings, Enid and her husband Lowell Music, Andrea and her husband Harold Crew, Vonda and her husband Richard Mann, Max and his wife Kim Woods, Sylvia and her husband Mark Godden, and Deanne and her husband Willie De la Pena; and multiple nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 29th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Rivet Funeral Home located at 425 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack NH. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 30th at 10:00 AM also at the Rivet Funeral Home with a burial to follow at Last Rest Cemetery in Merrimack NH.
