Susan M. Ray

Susan M. Ray, a former resident of Tyngsborough, MA died peacefully on April 6, 2024 at D’Youville Senior Care after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Geroge E. Ray who passed away in 2001. Susan was born October 27, 1944 and was a daughter of the late John and Janina (Plachna) Boumil. She received her education in Dracut schools and was a graduate of Dracut High School, class of 1963. Growing up on the family farm, Susan developed an appreciation of hard work and family.

She enjoyed being a homemaker and loved to knit, cook, and tend to a small garden. Outside of her home, Susan worked for several service businesses. One of her greatest attributes was to help others, especially in her neighborhood. She was a great care giver to her husband’s parents and other family members. She also enjoyed a good card game and being with friends. Susan is survived by her son, Todd E. Ray and his wife, Mary E. of Litchfield, NH, her brother John (Patricia) Boumil of Dracut, her sister Meredith Boumil(Robert) Flynn of Dracut, and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Boumil of Alburgh, VT. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins, among them, her two godchildren, Donna Boumil-Sedgwick of Alburg VT. and Janet Adie of Dracut. Susan was predeceased by her brother Robert S. Boumil of Alburgh, Vt and a special aunt, W. Ann Casey of Dracut.

The Ray family sincerely thanks the staff and nurses of D’Youville for their care and compassion for Susan during her time at D’Youville. A graveside service will take place on April 17, 2024, 10:00 am at the Tyngsborough Memorial Cemetery, 87 Fletcher Dr. Tyngsborough.
