Roland “Pete” Arthur Dutton

Roland “Pete” Arthur Dutton, 85, of Nashua, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 while surrounded by his family. Born on December 31, 1938 in Nashua, he was the son of the late Leon and Lena (Provost) Dutton.

A lifelong resident of Nashua, Pete was educated in the Nashua Public school system and graduated from Nashua high School. After high school, he joined the United States Army and served in the Infantry as a tank driver until he was honorably discharged in 1964. Upon returning from the Army, he went on to work for W.R. Grace for over 40 years. Pete grew up playing on the Nashua baseball and softball leagues and continued until his adult years. He enjoyed reading, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Detroit Lions, golfing, and playing in cribbage leagues. An avid fisherman, he enjoyed fishing whenever possible and going on hunting trips with his friends. Pete will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul.

Pete is survived by his step daughters Carol Higgins, Joan Barrows and husband Leo; sister Ellen Clement and husband Bruce; sister-in-law Louise Dutton; grandchildren Adam Higgins, Timothy Davis and significant other Amanda, Tricia Shea and husband Justin, Jonathan Davis and wife April, Kevin Higgins and significant other Jenn; Great-Grandchildren John Grafton, Avaleigh Higgins, Rosalie Higgins, Kaylee Shea, Savannah Shea, Angeline Davis, Emily Davis, Raleigh Davis, and Jensen Davis; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Pete was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Dutton; brothers Richard “Dusty” Dutton and wife Judy, Lawrence Dutton, and Leo Dutton; sisters Deloris Berube and husband Omer, and Eunice Psilopoulos and husband Nick.

Calling hours will be held Friday, April 19, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Zis-Sweeney & St. Laurent Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley Street, Nashua, NH, with a service to begin at 12:00 PM in the funeral home. A burial will follow at Edgewood Cemetery, 107 Amherst St, Nashua, NH.
