Nancy Sylvia McCallum

Nancy Sylvia McCallum, 84, of Nashua, passed away after a period of declining health on Friday, March 15, 2024. Born on June 13, 1939 in Nashua, she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Grace (Young) Cantara.

Nancy was a lifelong Nashua resident and graduated from Nashua High School Class of 1957. After high school, she graduated from Nashua Business College and she entered into a lifelong career of healthcare administration. Nancy took pride in family activities and caring for those around her. While residing at the Hunt Community, she became active in numerous activity groups, especially her favorite, the knitting and crocheting group.

She is survived by her son Dan McCallum and his wife Linda; son-in-law Shawn Shanahan; sister Priscilla Brown; sister-in-law Jackie Cantara; grandchildren Tyler Shanahan and his wife Katie; and Tawny Wesolowski and her husband Brian. She is also survived by her four great grandchildren, Connor and Hannah Shanahan; and Isabella and Dominick Wesolowski and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Richard McCallum; daughter Susan Shanahan; and brother Jack Cantara.

The family would like to thank the Hunt Community staff for providing compassionate care for Nancy this past year. And especially her dear friend Trudy, for “adopting” her during her time at the Hunt Community.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PMat Zis-Sweeney & St. Laurent Funeral Home, 26 Kinsley Street, Nashua, NH. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 9:15 AM at St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring St, Nashua, NH with a burial to follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, 102 Derry Rd, Hudson, NH.
