Patricia M. Babineau

Mar 12, 2024

Patricia M. Babineau, 89, of Nashua, NH, wife of Dr. T. Arthur Babineau, passed away peacefully at home on March 7, 2024, with her family by her side.

Pat was born in Worcester, MA on December 7, 1934, the daughter of Ellen L. (Banaghan) and Ernest S. Finney of Leicester, MA. Pat was a graduate of Leicester High School and Becker College, Worcester, MA. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Boston and was employed at the Boston Floating Hospital, now the New England Medical Center where she met Arthur.

Pat and Arthur were married on May 30, 1956, and moved to Newport, RI where Arthur was stationed in the Navy for two years. They lived in Fitchburg, MA for nine years raising a family before moving to Nashua, NH to establish an orthodontic practice. In addition to assisting in the practice and working in commercial real estate, it was paramount to Pat to focus on homemaking and bringing up their children. Pat and Arthur’s loving and devoted partnership of 67 years blessed them with six children: Ellen Pouravelis (George), Laura Standish (Rick), Diane Jousset (Mark Henry), Mary Babineau (Dan Hinch), and Eileen Halloran (Kevin), and Tom Babineau (Louise Lamontagne), as well as her brother William E. Finney of Northborough MA.

Pat’s greatest joy was gathering with her family and sharing her generous heart and fun-loving spirit. She enjoyed planning and hosting many family events that instilled and reinforced her strongly held belief that love, mutual support, and fun is foundational to forming a strong family bond. Pat was happiest when sharing her talents and Irish humor with her children, 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Her brilliant smile and bright eyes brought happiness to all who had the good fortune to share time with her. Her deep care for others, intellectual curiosity, and abundant humor, drew her to all people, and them to her. Pat loved and valued her family, her many friends, and especially her faith. She was a devout Catholic and active communicant of Immaculate Conception Church.

The family would like to thank Brookhaven Hospice of New Hampshire, At Home by Hunt, and all her caregivers for their compassion, expertise, and exceptional care.
