Harold A. Scott

Harold A. Scott, 85, died peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH after a brief battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Gertrud “Trudy” (Notholt) Scott with whom he shared over 60 years of marriage.

Harold was born in Marlborough, Massachusetts on November 23, 1938, and was the son of the late Everett and Charlotte (Brown) Scott. He received his education and was a graduate of Fitchburg High School. Harold moved to Nashua, NH with his wife when they married.

For many years, he was employed as an electrical engineer for Conductor Lab in Groton, MA and most recently ElPakco in Westford, MA until his retirement.

In his free time, Harold enjoyed all that NH offered. He loved visiting the White Mountains and would regularly go boating on Lake Winnipesaukee. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid candlepin bowler and bowled for many years at Harvard Lanes in Harvard, MA. He was the long-time treasurer for the Merchant’s Bowling League. One of his favorite things to do was to travel to Germany to visit relatives.

In addition to his wife, Trudy, he is survived by his daughter, Karen Scott and her husband William McFadden of New Boston, NH. He is also survived by his three grand-dogs, Harley, Wiley, and Christian. Harold was predeceased by his siblings, Melissa Deware and Jayne Danforth both of Pepperell, MA, and Walter Scott of Arizona.

At Harold’s family request, his graveside service and interment will be held on Thursday, April 4th at 10 AM in Woodlawn Cemetery, 40 Heald Street, Pepperell, Massachusetts.
