Raymond Whalen

Raymond Whalen, 89, died at his home on February 9, 2024. He was born on February 22, 1934, in Portchester, New York. He always had a passion for building and designing, and knew at an early age the he would become an engineer. After high school, he went to Wentworth Institute in Boston. Upon graduation, he served in the U. S. Army and was stationed in Belmont, MA. He later graduated from Northeastern University, moved to Nashua, and worked at Sanders, Associates for 37 years. He was a longtime member of Church of the Good Shepherd, Nashua.

Ray’s hobbies included hang gliding and travel. He wintered in Venice, FL for twenty years where he enjoyed his favorite pastimes of golf and volunteering at the Venice Theater. He was happiest when he was with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Ray is predeceased by a grandson, Cameron Lentz. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage; his sister, Elinor; his son, Steven and fiance Susan Carlson; his daughter, Kimberly and her husband Richard DiStefano; his daughter, Rebecca and her husband Christopher Lentz; six grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

SERVICES: There will be no calling hours. A mass will be held on Thursday, February 15th at Church of the Good Shepherd, Nashua, at 11:00 a.m. Following the service there will be a reception at the clubhouse at Hayden Green.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Home Health and Hospice in Merrimack, or Church of the Good Shepherd, Nashua.
