William J. Stetzler Jr. passed away in Fort Walton Beach, Florida on January 20, 2024, at 88 years old.
William Jr., also known as Bill, was born on November 5, 1935, on his family’s farm in Pennsylvania to William Sr. and Mary (Berger) Stetzler. He served in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from Penn State University. After college, Bill relocated to New Hampshire and spent 34 years working as an Electrical Engineer and Program Manager at Sanders Associates in Nashua. He had a strong passion for his job, especially the travel that took him across the globe.
Bill and his wife, Shelia, raised their family in Hudson, New Hampshire. Bill was involved in multiple community organizations, including Christ the King Lutheran Church, the Hudson Lions Club, and Little League Baseball. He was a skilled woodworker who loved to spend his time building furniture, remodeling kitchens, and helping friends with various projects.
He retired and moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida, with Shelia in 1996. As a lover of music, he played the trumpet as a youth and joined a barbershop quartet in his later years. Among his other interests were a lifelong adoration for dogs, avidly following Penn State football, and cherishing moments with his family.
Surviving him are his wife of 66 years, Sheila (Halligan) Stetzler (Fort Walton Beach, FL), his two sons – Gary and Susan (Annis) Stetzler (Kent, WA) and Glenn Stetzler (Albermarle, NC), sister Linda (Stetzler) Hemerly (Shartlesville, PA), several nieces and nephews, 9 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, brother Richard Stetzler, and daughter Francine (Stetzler) Kramer, and daughter in-law Dawna (Charette) Stetzler.
The family will hold a private memorial service in Pennsylvania at a later date.
