Gail Brooks
Gail Brooks of Hudson died peacefully at home with her daughters at her side Sunday evening, Jan 21, at age 85 after several months of declining health. She was born in Nashua to Guy and Agnes Harwood, the last of their six children. She graduated from Nashua High School, Class of 1956.
Gail worked for various companies, including Banner Photo, Freddie’s Mini Kitchen, R&R Vending, Alec’s Shoe Store, and the Dollar Tree. She loved watching Boston sports teams on TV and looked forward to watching whichever golf tournament was on. She knew all the golfers and had her favorites. She was an avid reader, loved to knit hats for different charities, and usually had a puzzle going.
After spending most of her life in Nashua, Gail and her sister Alice moved to Hudson in 1988 next door to Margo and Michael. Alice passed away in 2016. Gail always had a tootsie pop for any child that came into the house and her grandkids and great grandkids knew where she kept the treats.
Gail is survived by her daughters Margo (Michael) Demers of Hudson and Becky (Joe) Korostynski of Knightdale, NC. She had five grandchildren, Keegan (Maegan) Demers, Andrew (Rachel) Korostynski, Cole Korostynski, Kelsey Dalrymple, and Emily (Johnny) Berry. She also had eight great-grandchildren, Vivian, Marlee, Piper, Holden, Rylee, Kane, Nora, and Cecily.
She loved spending vacations with her family, whether in Myrtle Beach, Maine, NH, North Carolina or elsewhere. Gail and the whole family cherished the Jellystone vacation in Glen NH in August of 2022. She also had a great group of close friends she loved to be with.
The family appreciates the services of Home Health & Hospice Care over the last few weeks. All the grandkids were able to visit her in her last days to say their goodbyes. She enjoyed seeing each of them and they helped ease her journey from this life. There will be no public services. Gail will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family. She would want you to go buy a Bingo lottery scratch ticket and have a cocktail of your choice.
