Phyllis F. Cline
Phyllis F. (Bridgman) Cline, 92, a resident of Nashua, NH passed away on December 27, 2023, at Premier Nursing Home in Nashua. Phyllis was born in 1931 in Newton, MA, the daughter of Edith (Maclaine) and Joseph Bridgman. She was the widow of the late Gerald R. Cline who passed away in June 1988 after sharing nearly 22 years of marriage. She graduated from Needham High School and continued her education at Green Mountain Jr. College graduating in 1951. She was a secretary at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company in Boston and a medical secretary at the Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain, MA. Following her marriage in October 1966, she moved to Hudson, NH with her two stepsons, Jeffrey and Randall. In 1979 she and her family moved to Nashua, NH.
Phyllis was an active member of the Community Church of Hudson UCC and served as secretary on the Diaconate Board and was a choir member. More recently Phyllis had joined the Pilgrim Congregational Church UCC in Nashua.
Helping others was an important part of who she was. She served as a volunteer at Southern NH Medical Center in the coffee shop and with the NH Special Olympics as an office assistant and a downhill ski coach for the Merrimack Friars Ski Team. She also volunteered in many capacities at Mt Hope School where her son Randy attended.
Phyllis also loved music, sang in many chorus groups and church choirs. She studied classic piano and voice as a young adult and spent several years singing barbershop harmony with The Boston Chapter of Sweet Adelines. She also enjoyed doing crafts, reading, and working with mentally challenged children and young adults. One of her greatest joys was downhill skiing with her autistic son, not only as he competed in Special Olympics, but recreationally with his family and friends.
Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Jerry, son Jeffrey Cline, brother Joseph Bridgman, and sister Jean DeLong. Survivors include her son Randall Cline of Hudson, daughter in law Carla Cline and her beloved grandson Joshua Cline of Kennebunk, ME, as well as several nieces and nephews.
There will be a private graveside service in the spring to celebrate Phyllis’ life.
