Phila E. Howard Brill

Phila E. Howard Brill, 85, of Manchester, NH, passed away Monday January 8, 2024, in the Hackett Hill Nursing Home, Manchester. She was born on October 20, 1937 in Manchester, NH, a daughter of the late Myles and Louise (Holton) Nelson. Phila worked as a Professional Nurse Advocate prior to her retirement.

Phila had a great appreciation for the outdoors. She enjoyed watching the birds and wildlife, dogs, camping and taking motorcycle rides with her second husband George. While camping, her favorite part was burned hot dogs on a stick over the fire. Phila also enjoyed backyard cookouts and had an immense love for her family and gathering for the holidays. She sewed many blankets that will be cherished for years by those who have received them. Phila will be remembered for her vibrant personality and her love of color.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Costantino of St. Augustine, FL, and Penny Cave of Blue Springs, MO; one son, Danny Howard of Derry, NH; five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two sisters, Betty Griffin of Westborough, MA and Jean Hansen of Nashua, NH, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was predeceased by her first husband of 38 years, Paul Howard in 1995, her second husband George Brill, one daughter, Nancy Gail Tarr, two brothers Yate and Robert Nelson, and three sisters, Phyllis Bourgault, Debra Dionne and Evelyn Walker.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 11am – 1pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. Funeral services will begin at 1pm in the funeral home. Burial with her first husband Paul will be in the spring in Glenwood Cemetery, Mammoth Road, Londonderry.
