David J. Flannery

Brookline, NH – David J. Flannery, 59, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 20, 2023 after a three-year courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Dave was born in Nashua, NH on June 10, 1964, a son of the late William and Margaret (Gately) Flannery. He graduated from Nashua High School and went on to further his education at the NH Vocational Technical School in Manchester. Dave, a Master Electrician, worked for over ten years as a Senior Electrical Control Systems Engineer at EMD Millipore in Jaffrey. Prior to this he had worked for Kraft, Hollingsworth and Vose as well as Nashua Corp.

Dave was a 25-year veteran of the Brookline Fire Department, currently serving as Assistant Fire Chief; he had previously been a member of the Mason Fire Department. After rescuing an individual from a house fire in 2014, Dave, along with two other firefighters, was awarded the Medal of Valor from the State of New Hampshire.

Along with his family, Dave loved going camping in his RV and spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed hiking and shooting at the range. Dave loved cars, motorcycles, and dirt bikes; he could fix anything and was known as a “Jack of all trades”. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Debbie (Bouldry) Flannery; their son Sean Flannery; siblings, Patsy Jarry and husband Al, Adrienne DiRienzo and husband Chuck, Michael Flannery and wife Cheryl, Tom Gallo and wife Regina, Beth Fitzpatrick and husband Jim, Bill Flannery and wife Lisa, Marty Flannery and wife Michelle; sister-in-law Kristine Bergeron; many nieces and nephews.

Dave was predeceased by his sisters, Janice Buchanan, Celeste Flannery, and Virginia Donovan.

Calling hours will be held in the Anderson Funeral Home, 250 Main St., Townsend, on Friday, January 5, from 4-7pm. The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 6, in the Brookline Community Church, 2 Main St., Brookline, NH at 11am, followed by burial in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Brookline.
