Dec 6, 2023

In loving memory of Sandra K “Sammy” Roy (Hogan) born February 25, 1954, long-term resident of Amherst, NH who passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer, on November 15, 2023, surrounded by her family. Sandra was the devoted wife and soulmate of Robert E. Roy. Sandra was also a beloved Mother, Nana, Sister, and Aunt.

Sandra was full of love and enjoyed nothing more than sharing time with her cherished family. She worked in a variety of professions over her lifetime. She had an incredible sense of humor and friendliness. She enjoyed knitting, reading, playing bingo, and gardening.

Sandra was predeceased by her mother Jacqueline Irene Hogan, mother-in-law Teresa Roy and father-in-law Rudolph Roy, as well as sister Karen Hogan. Sandra is survived by her husband Robert E. Roy of Amherst NH, two children, Jesse T. Roy and daughter-in-law Alexis (Lexy) Baker of Amherst NH, Alexandria (Ali) Hutchinson (Roy) and son-in-law Erik N. Hutchinson of Franklin MA, niece Tonya Bouley and her husband Steve Bouley of Nashua NH, who was like a second daughter to Sandra, and five grandchildren; Ella, Conor, Caden, Callan and Whitley. In addition, she is survived by many family members including brother Stephen Hogan and his wife Stella Hogan, Brian Hogan and sister-in-law Kathy Hogan, brother-in-law Roger Roy and his wife Karen Roy, sister-in-law Sandy Silver and her husband Peter Silver, brother-in-law Ronald Roy and his wife Karen Roy as well as many additional nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who grew to know her.

Sandra was a kind, caring and generous person who always put the needs of her family and friends before her own. She was a source of inspiration because of her ability to show grace, positivity and love even at the most difficult times. Growing up, Sandra was always there for us offering support and baked goods to warm our hearts and souls. She loved nothing more than hosting a family gathering where she had an abundance of “Scoobie Snacks” awaiting. Even during her weakest moments, she had the strength to focus on the health and happiness of her family and friends.

Next spring, Sandra’s loved ones will gather at Lake Winnipesaukee for a celebration of life and a remembrance ceremony. This spot was one of her most cherished places.

In lieu of flowers, her community is invited to offer messages of love to the family or to contribute to fund the remaining burden of extensive medical expenses. Contributions are going to the following Go Fund Me page https://gofund.me/6069b89a

Sandra will always be in our hearts will never be forgotten.

“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day.”
