Karen Marie Egle-Gaber
Karen Marie Egle-Gaber passed away in her home on November 8th, 2023, in Portland, ME where she retired in 2014. Born in Nashua on January 18th, 1952, to parents Arvid and Ruth Anderson-Egle. She graduated from Nashua High School in 1970 and attended Rivier College.
Karen was a world traveler visiting all the countries in the Middle East and many countries in Europe. She had worked in Cairo, Egypt for 3 years. Karen then started her working career there at Digital Equipment Corp for 15 years. She also worked for a publishing company in Cairo, Egypt. She then started working at the Nashua Public Library for 20 years where she was in charge of the Book Mobile and The Outreach Programs. Karen loved the Maine coast and hunting for antiques.
She is survived by: her son Sherif Gaber and his wife Reneet Gaber and there children: Omarianel and Natalie, his son Omar and his mother: Monica, her son Mohamed and his wife Heather and there daughters: Nadia and Amira of Webster, MA, her cousin Robin Kopel of Illinois, her cousin Adrienne Sicilliano of NH, here cousin Ingegerd Gustaf-Janson of Sweden, her cousins Dave, Rick, Ray Sicilliano and many other relatives in Latvia (the birth place of her father.) As Karen always said “It’s a wonderful life and we have to live it.” There will be no calling hours.
