Norma Lee (Jepson) Brannigan

Nov 7, 2023

Beloved mother and grandmother Norma Lee (Jepson) Brannigan, 82, of Redmond, Washington, and formerly of Brookline, Nashua, and Hollis, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2023, after a lengthy illness.

Norma was born in Brookline, New Hampshire, on September 1, 1941, to the late Frederick and Miriam (Smith) Jepson. She graduated from Nashua High School in 1959 and worked as a secretary. In 1967, she met James Walter Brannigan while he was serving in the United States Navy and stationed in Newport, Rhode Island, and it was love at first sight. After Jim’s discharge from the Navy, he and Norma were married later that year and settled in Nashua, where their son James Michael was born in 1975. They later moved to Hollis, and then to Redmond, Washington, in 2004. After almost 49 years of happy marriage, Jim passed away of cancer in 2016.

Norma enjoyed reading, playing cards, and especially spending time with her family. Even after she moved to the Seattle area, she remained a loyal Patriots and Red Sox fan to the end. Norma was loved by all who knew her for her sense of humor and the special love she shared with her husband, Jim. She will be missed.

Norma is survived by her son, James Michael Brannigan, of Bothell, Washington; her grandsons Simon and Cyrus Brannigan; her brother, Charles Jepson, and his wife, Alice, of Ashburnham, Massachusetts; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brothers Paul, Phillip, and Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Norma’s memory to Seattle Children’s Hospital, M/S 818-F, PO Box 5371, Seattle, WA 98145-5005.
