Robert William Higgins

We are sad to announce the passing of Robert William Higgins of Hudson, NH. He passed away at the age of 80 on October 23, 2023, after a long illness. Robert, or Bob, as he was known to many, passed away surrounded by his loved ones.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Lori Scholer and her husband, Eric Scholer, of Pittsford, NY; Robyn Gallagher and her husband, Dan Gallagher, of Northborough, MA; and Andrea Herzich and her husband, Paul Herzich of Holly Springs, NC. In addition, he is survived by his loving grandchildren Katherine, Margaret, Elizabeth, Molly, William, Emelia, and Stella. He is also survived by his former wife, Barbara Haskell-Higgins of Nashua, NH, and he is survived by many dear friends, including Alison LeGault.

Bob was born and raised in Wareham, MA to the late John Henry Higgins and Doris Mildred (Tolman) Higgins. Bob was predeceased by his brother, Richard Tolman Higgins. Bob graduated from Wareham High School and enrolled in the Naval Air Reserves. He later graduated from Northeast Institute of Technology.

Bob worked for Raytheon, Sanders Corporation, and Eaton Corporation for many years. He later went on to open his own businesses, Higgins Microwave and HiPeak Technical Sales. He took great pride in owning his own businesses.

Bob’s hobbies included golfing, and he was an avid New England sports fan. He loved attending Patriots games and could often be found watching the Red Sox. You could also find him at the local bar, AJs, where many great friendships were formed.

SERVICES: A celebration of life for Bob will take place at a later date. Those wishing to pay tribute to Bob can consider placing a donation to your local fire department or nonprofit of your choice, as the Hudson Fire Department provided tremendous care to him during his illness.
