Doris DiFonzo, a truly extraordinary individual, passed away on October 17, 2023. She bravely battled cancer for 11 years, participating in clinical trials that aimed to find a cure. Her determination and commitment to advancing medical research will forever inspire those who knew her.
Doris, a resident of Nashua, New Hampshire, had a zest for life that was contagious. She found joy in the simple pleasures, particularly in her passion for “junking” and collecting treasures. Her keen eye and adventurous spirit led her to discover hidden gems, each holding a story that she cherished.
Education was of utmost importance to Doris, evident in her remarkable academic achievements. She held a Bachelor of Science, an MBA, and a Jurors Doctorate. Her thirst for knowledge was unquenchable, and she shared her wisdom with others during her tenure as a teacher at Lowell Technical High School. Doris’s dedication to her students left an indelible impact on their lives, shaping them into lifelong learners.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Doris was the epitome of the loving and nurturing Italian matriarch. As the oldest of 11 brothers and sisters, she took on the responsibility of caring for her family with grace and strength. Her siblings looked up to her as a guiding light, and she cherished the bond they shared.
Doris was the adored mother of three loving daughters: Lisa Clarke-LaRochelle and her son-in-law John LaRochelle of Pelham, New Hampshire; Amber Clarke and her daughter-in-law Jennifer Clarke of Nashua, New Hampshire; and AutumnRose Johnson and her daughter-in-law Kristina Johnson of San Antonio, Texas. Doris’s love for her daughters knew no bounds, and she embraced her role as a mother with unwavering devotion. Her six grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she loved them deeply. She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever be treasured.
Doris possessed an iconic presence that drew others to her effortlessly. Her larger-than-life personality and captivating charm made her the center of attention in any room. She had a timeless elegance and a keen sense of style. Doris was not only stunning on the outside but also possessed an inner strength that carried her through life’s challenges. Her intelligence, combined with a wicked sense of humor, made her a force to be reckoned with.
In the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her, Doris leaves an irreplaceable void. Her memory will forever be cherished as we celebrate the incredible woman she was. She will be remembered for her strength, her beauty, her intelligence, and her ability to light up a room with her infectious laughter.
Although our hearts ache with her absence, we find solace in knowing that Doris’s spirit will continue to guide and inspire us. She will forever remain a legend, an icon, and a beloved soul who touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A funeral service will be held to honor Doris’s life on her Birthday October 29, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Church, 216 E Dunstable Rd, Nashua, NH 03062 at 1pm, with a celebration of life to follow at 2 Clocktower Place, Nashua, NH.
