George E. Dobens
George E. Dobens, a longtime resident of Nashua, peacefully passed away on his 98th birthday October 15, 2023. He was born in Brookline, Massachusetts in 1925. George’s life was one filled with remarkable experiences and profound love.
George graduated from Nashua High School in 1944, and his path led him to serve his country with honor in the Navy during World War II. Following his military service, he embarked on a distinguished 45-year career at Ingersoll Rand (Impco).
George’s legacy lives on through his loving family. He is survived by his children: Jeanne Contreras, Marlene (Jon) Musgrove, Kathleen Thibault, George Dobens, Edward Dobens (Dave Trow), and Christine Dobens (Dan Jean). He also had two stepsons, Norman and David (Kim) Cadorette. His influence extended to numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wives, Tina and June, and his longtime companion, Barbara Fournier. His heartache also included the loss of his son, Dennis Dobens, and his granddaughter, Carissa Dobens.
George’s life was characterized by the simple joys that brought him happiness, including gardening, bingo, and cribbage. He also enjoyed making jigsaw puzzles and trips to the casino. He found solace and contentment in these pastimes, which were emblematic of his warm and welcoming nature.
George will be truly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His enduring spirit and love will forever be a cherished memory in the hearts of those who loved him. The mention of “a nice piece of bread” is a heartfelt reminder of the unique and valued bond they had with him.

SERVICES: A Christian Mass will be held at 10am, Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Parish of the Resurrection, 449 Broad Street Nashua, New Hampshire 03063. Burial will follow, with full Military Honors, at St. Louis Cemetery is located at 752 W. Hollis St., Nashua, NH 03062 at 11:15am.
