Judith “Judy” M. Adams

Oct 17, 2023

Judith “Judy” M. Adams, 81, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2023 and is now in the presence of her Savior, Jesus.

She was born December 28, 1941 in Esperance, NY to the late Arthur G. and Hilda (Johnson) Shene. Besides her parents, Judy was predeceased by a brother Philip Shene, a sister Mary Wilson, and her former husband Frederick H. Adams.

Judy grew up in NY, in the Colonie area, and graduated from Colonie Central High School. She became a wife and mother and was a stay-at-home mom for many years, desiring to raise her children and create a home for her family; Judy was an excellent cook and baker, and her family enjoyed many delicious home-cooked meals and tasty treats through the years.

Judy was a gifted musician, learning to play the piano at a young age at the Schenectady Conservatory of Music. Her piano teacher was known to dance around the room as she played, even asking for songs to be played again for sheer enjoyment. Judy carried her talent throughout her life and used her gift to provide music for many weddings, funerals, and church services in particular.

She moved to NH in the early 1970’s and lived in Nashua for decades until moving to Hudson about 8 years ago. Judy joined the work force later in life and worked in the dry cleaning industry; she enjoyed interacting with her customers, particularly the “regulars.”

While living in Nashua, Judy was blessed to have her grandsons live nearby to watch them grow and be part of their everyday lives. Even as time and distance began to separate them, she loved having the family together for holidays and special times–it truly meant so much.

Judy’s faith in God and her personal relationship with Christ were central to who she was. She was involved in the church throughout her life and was a longtime member of the Lowell, MA Church of the Nazarene. She served in many ministries but particularly loved contributing musically, singing and playing both the piano and organ. One of her favorite opportunities was playing for the church choir which she did for many years along with accompanying soloists, ensembles, and even a family trio with her son and daughter.

In her final years, Judy enjoyed taking rides in the car and traveling to nearby ponds to enjoy nature. She loved to sit outside, watching birds and wildlife and appreciating the warmth of the sunshine. She will truly be missed by those who knew her and loved her, but we are comforted in knowing she has entered God’s promise of eternal life.

Judy’s loving family includes; a son Jeffrey Adams and his wife Rachel of Casa Grande, AZ, a daughter Diane Adams of Hudson, NH, a grandson Paul Adams and his wife Allysa of Madison, WI, a grandson John Adams and his wife Joanna of Bourbonnais, IL, a grandson Wesley Adams of Casa Grande, AZ, two precious great-granddaughters who brought her special joy Arizona Adams and Hosanna Adams of Madison, WI, (and another great-granddaughter on the way), a sister Nancy Shumway and her husband Dan of Bloomingdale, NY, a former brother-in-law Ron Norman of Johnson City, NY, a former brother-in-law Phil Adams of Johnson City, NY, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19th from 9:00am – 10:30am with a Service of Remembrance at 10:30am in the Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Ferry Street in Hudson, NH. Burial will be held in Edgewood Cemetery in Nashua. To share an online message of condolence, please visit www.dumontsullivan.com
