Earlon L. Williams

Earlon L. Williams of Nashua, New Hampshire died peacefully, comforted by family, on September 23, 2023 at the Hunt Community. He was 86 years old.

The sixth of seven children, Earl was born on October 6, 1936, the son of Guy J. Williams and Pauline Deschesne of Fort Fairfield, Maine. He was the husband of Virginia J. Williams and lately resided at the Hunt Community, having lived in Nashua for 54 years.

Earl lived his early years in Waterville, Maine He learned to play golf as a young boy, caddying at the Waterville Country Club and was a 1955 graduate of Waterville High School. He participated in several sports, including golf, and was captain of his basketball team. A lifelong golf enthusiast Earl enjoyed playing golf wherever he traveled. He was a member of the Amherst Country Club and of a Maine Senior Golf League. Always up for a challenge he began downhill skiing at age 50. He was a devoted fan of the Boston sports teams.

Earl served in the USAF, and building on the technical skills he acquired in the Air Force, he enjoyed a successful career with the FAA that spanned 36 years. He retired in 1995 from the Boston Center in Nashua as a Systems Engineer.

Earl enjoyed travels to Great Britain, Ireland, and Europe with friends and relatives and never missed a summer vacation in his beloved State of Maine. A devout Catholic, Earl was a communicant of Saint Patrick Parish. He will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor, and as a good, kind and joyful man. Family and friends are grateful for having known and loved him.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother Melvin of Belgrade Maine, daughter Mary Fokas of Hollis, NH, son Michael Williams and wife Jill (Stingert) of Kailua, HI, and son Christopher Williams and wife Jeanette (Eng) of Pembroke, MA; also four grandchildren, Owen and Virginia Williams, Mia and Emma Fokas and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Reginald, Richard, Paul, Guy and much loved sister JoAnn Nivison of Winslow, Maine.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Hunt Community and Bayada Hospice for the care of Earl in his final days.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 10:30 am at Saint Patrick Parish in Nashua, followed by a celebration of Earl’s life at Martha’s Exchange Restaurant, 185 Main Street, Nashua.
