Normand Belanger
Normand Belanger, 76, resident of Hudson, NH, died peacefully on August 28, 2023.
He was born on November 4, 1946 to Cecile (Nadeau) and Gerard Belanger and raised in Nashua. Norm graduated from Nashua High School 1964 and Becker Junior College in Worcester in 1966. He earned his BS from University of Massachusetts-Lowell.
Norm joined the Army National Guard and served in the B Battery 3rd Battalion 197th. During his time in the Army, Norm served honorably in Vietnam. In recent years he enjoyed spending time at reunions with those who served with him.
He started Bel-Nor Company in August of 1978 and was self-employed for the majority of his career. Norm employed many people in the Hudson-Nashua area and was a key member of the business community. He worked at Bel-Nor until the company was acquired in 2012.
Norm had a strong faith in God and loved to spend time with family and friends at breakfast or lunch after mass. He also loved to play golf and attend anything that his grandchildren were involved in whether on the field or on stage. Norm had a particular fondness for popsicles and shared them generously with those he loved.
He was a longtime parishioner of St. Kathryn Catholic Church in Hudson. Norm served on the Finance Committee and assisted in raising funds for the present church on Dracut Road.
Family members include his loving wife, Julie (Hillman) Belanger of Hudson, and four proud children and their spouses: Greg Belanger and Jill (Cohen) of Melrose, MA, Brian Belanger and Nissa (Larson) of Londonderry, NH, Meghan (Donnelly) and Erich Schneider of St. Petersburg, FL, Jason Donnelly and Sue (Bradway) of Arlington, MA; eight beloved grandchildren, Boden and Vivien Belanger, Asa Belanger, Annie, Lily, and Dexter Schneider, Ruby and Abraham Donnelly; three brothers and two sisters in law, Roger and Patricia Belanger of Deerfield, FL, Ernest Belanger and Mary (Budge) of Nashua, NH, and Monsignor Gerry Belanger of Meredith, NH, and several adoring nieces and nephews. Normand is predeceased by his devoted wife Anne (Tomber, d. 1989). Normand is also predeceased by his sister and brother in law Jan (Belanger) and Norm Ruest.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at St. Kathryn Catholic Church, 4 Dracut Road in Hudson, NH. All may please meet at church. Burial with full military honors will take place at The New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. There are no visiting hours.
