Claude ‘Pepé’ R. Bernier

Claude “Pepé” R. Bernier, 81, of longtime resident of Merrimack, NH passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday Aug. 22, 2023 at CMC Hospital in Manchester, NH after a sudden illness.

He was born in Canada a son of the late Albert and Colette (Simoneau) Bernier.

Before retirement, he was a self-employed drywaller. He cherished his family and friends and loved spending time with them. Claude enjoyed farming and his gardens, and also liked deep sea fishing. He loved to listen to the oldies country music and especially Elvis. He always had ways to make everyone laugh, even if you couldn’t understand his strong french Canadian accent. He was a guy of many crazy stories. He had a LAUGH that was contagious. You always knew what room he was in. He was loved and will be missed by many.

In addition to his parents, he is the widower of Rachel M. (Bolduc) Bernier who passed away in 2015; and also two brothers.

Members of his surviving family include, four daughters, Bibi Tucker and her husband John, Lena Ketchie and her husband Rob, Sonia Dahl, and Crystal Bernier; two sons Reggie and Danny Guay; 10 grandchildren, Jonathan, Brittany, Dominique, Robert, Thomas, Kayla, Jessica, Justin, Jaslyn and Andrew; 3 great-grandchildren, Ava, Aubrey, and Alina; two brothers and three sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be in the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack, NH on Sunday Aug. 27, 2023 from 3-6 pm. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 11 am. Burial will follow in Last Rest Cemetery, Merrimack, NH.
