David E. Munroe

David E. Munroe, 89, of Dunedin, FL passed away peacefully on August 18, 2023 in Lancaster, NH. He was born in Boston, MA on August 7, 1934, son of the late William and Myrtle (Fenimore) Munroe. David shared 66 years of marriage with the love of his life, Jacqueline (Bishop) Munroe.

David was raised in Hollis, NH and graduated from Hollis High School in 1952. He was proud to serve his country for 4 years in the U.S. Air Force. He later went on to work at Sanders Associates. David and his family were well known in Hollis for their businesses, Munroe’s Pizza and Munroe’s Bakery. This led to the creation of New England Country Pies in Merrimack, NH where he was co-owner and worked alongside his wife and daughters. He retired to Florida with his wife, Jackie, in 2003.

David is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, and his children, William and Helen Munroe, Donna Munroe, Diane Maragos, Debra and Steven Ford; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; sister Dorothy Thistle and husband Herb, sister-in-law Joyce Munroe, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Darlene (Munroe) Ellsworth and brother Thomas Munroe.

David cherished time with his family and planned a special celebration in honor of his 89th birthday where his life was celebrated and honored with him in attendance, smiling and sharing memories with his extended family.
