Barbara L. Cote

Barbara L. Cote, 79, of Nashua, passed away on July 26, 2023. Barbara (Lougee) Cote was Born on April 12, 1944 in Nashua, a daughter of the late Francis (Hank) and Violet (Venne) Lougee.

Barbara was a lifelong Nashua resident who worked for the City of Nashua for over 30 years. A frequent traveler, Barbara and her husband of 57 years, Ron, took annual trips to Cancun and many other Caribbean islands. Her passion for aviation included 10 years serving on the Nashua Airport Authority, as well as obtaining her private pilot license.

In her younger years, Barbara could be found managing many local mayoral campaigns, serving as Ward 6 Election Moderator, and hosting a variety of candidate gatherings. Many road-trips were also enjoyed with Ron and their daughter Kristen, usually involving a pop-up camper they called ‘home’ many weeks a year.

As their family expanded, Barbara and Ron spent a lot of time with their two grandsons, Matthew and Joshua, exploring wonderful destinations like Disney World and Storyland. Her pride in their success was evident to all; and she loved watching them become young men.

Barbara is survived by her husband Ronald G Cote, her daughter Kristen (Cote) Stanton and her husband Daniel Cunningham, her grandsons, Matthew and Joshua Stanton. She is predeceased by her parents, Hank and Violet Lougee and her brother Kenneth Lougee.

In lieu of a memorial service, Barbara requested friends and loved ones remember her in their heart. Donations can be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Greater Nashua or the Wounded Warriors Project.
