DONAHUE, BERNADETTE (DETTA) JOANNE (ELWELL)

March 16, 1930 – July 20, 2023

Bernadette passed peacefully at The Elms Center, Milford, NH. Detta was born in Somerville, MA to John E. Ewell and Marion L. King; she was the last of their nine children. Detta is survived by her three children Dan Jr. (Susan) of Bellevue, NE, Gerry (Mary Krupa) of St. Petersburg, FL, and Kat Ota (Bob) of Manchester, NH; two grandchildren (Jill and Ian), two great-grandchildren (Michael and Finnegan), and many nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Cheverus Centennial High School in Malden in 1949 and worked in the Boston area for several years before marriage. Preceded in death by former husband Daniel T. Donahue, Sr., they were married in September 1952 at St. William’s in Tewksbury, MA. Dan Sr.’s career in the US Army took Detta up and down the East Coast and to Ethiopia, France, and Germany. They divorced in 1980.

Detta was a long-time employee of Teradyne in Nashua, NH, and a resident of Wagner Court at 101 Burke Street, Nashua.
