Susan M Mobley, 80, of Nashua died peacefully at Community Hospice House in Merrimack the morning of July 17, 2023. She was born November 2, 1942, in Beverly, MA, daughter to the late Richard and Elizabeth (Pettengill) Merrill. She grew up in Georgetown, MA and was a 1964 graduate of Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Education. She was the beloved wife of Archie S. Mobley, Jr. for 54 years. They had made their home in Nashua since 1972.

Susan began her career teaching Junior and Senior High School English in Whitman and Hamilton, MA. Later she was an English teacher at Nashua High School and an ESL instructor at the Nashua Adult Learning Center. Her students were so special to her!

Susan was an active member of the Good Cheer Society for nearly 19 years, holding the position of Treasurer for many of those years. She was proud to have played a role in furthering Good Cheer’s long history of supporting health and nursing care for those in need in her community. Known far and wide for her culinary creations, she thoroughly enjoyed entertaining family and friends. Susan was an avid gardener, and she took immense pleasure working in her flower gardens. Other loves included dancing, listening to music, and reading poetry, especially the works of Robert Frost.

Susan was the loving sister to Linda Slusarz and her husband Andy of Wakefield, MA. She was the devoted mother to Heather and her husband Greg of Satellite Beach, Florida and to Archie Mobley III (Scott) and his wife Kim-ly of Amherst. She was the proud grandmother (Mimi) to Gabriel, Abigail and Joshua Taylor, and Cole, Mason, and Owen Mobley. Her family meant the world to her, and she delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, whether that be feeding the ducks and birds with them, going for walks, playing games, baking cookies together, or snuggling on the couch reading books. She will be missed by all.
