Robert W. Martineau

Robert W. Martineau, 93, of Litchfield, NH, died July 6, 2023, at Community Hospice House, after a period of declining health. Born in Canton, MA on May 5, 1930, he was the son of Oscar and Eva Martineau. He attended Manchester High School Central and earned an associate’s degree from University of New Hampshire. Bob worked at Foster Grant for many years and until his retirement, he was a shipping and receiving manager with Baxter Health Care. Following his retirement, he was a surveyor’s assistant for various companies. Moving to Litchfield in 1971, he became a volunteer fireman, and served on several town committees and boards, including acting as a bail commissioner. Bob had a passion for music, especially jazz. In his younger years, he was a saxophone player during the Big Band Era. He played with the Roger Carrier Band and afterwards, with the National Guard Alumni Band. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed and his memory held dear. Family members include his wife of sixty-two years, Frances (Zapenas) Martineau; a daughter, Paula MacLeod and her husband, Wayne, of Manchester; a son, Anthony Martineau and his wife, Beth, of Sandown and their children, Aaron and Trevor. He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Lorraine Martineau and his daughter, Andrea Martineau. There are no services. Private burial will take place in Pinecrest Cemetery, Litchfield.
