Imelda Theresa (LeBoeuf) Smith

Imelda Theresa (LeBoeuf) Smith, 95, of Portsmouth, died peacefully of natural causes on July 1, 2023. “Nell” was born on April 14, 1928, the youngest daughter of Hudson farmers Louis and Alma LeBoeuf, attended Presentation of Mary Academy and graduated from St. Aloysius High School. She met her future husband Robert Smith while working at Speare’s department store. Besides many years as a homemaker she worked at Isadore’s Hair as a wig stylist and in the cosmetics section of Miller’s.

Bob and Nell spend their summer vacation time in their travel trailer at York Beach, Maine, then built a cottage in the Nubble Light neighborhood of York. Nell loved to entertain family and friends there and was renowned for her culinary skills. After 35 years in Nashua, Robert and Nell relocated to Portsmouth because of their love of the seacoast

Besides her parents and late husband, she is predeceased by her two sisters, Rita Brault and Yvonne Labombard, and her brother Gerald Leboeuf.

She is survived by her three children, Eric Smith of Merrimack, Clarissa Smith of Portland, OR, and Karl Smith of Cedar Park, TX as well as four grandchildren, Robert Smith of Merrimack, Ian Smith of Medford, MA, Mishaela Brennan of South Deerfield, MA, and Lalena Jarvis of Palm Coast, FL, as well as several great-grandchildren.
