Karen Anne Arpin (nee Busiere), 76, of Ludlow, MA passed away peacefully at home on Thursday June 15, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 6, 1947 in Springfield, MA to the late Kenneth Broga and Asenath Marie Busiere (nee LaVoice). She was a proud longtime resident of Ludlow, MA and a 1965 graduate of Springfield Trade High School. She married Charles Alexander Arpin on July 23, 1965 in Springfield, MA.

Karen worked for many years within the restaurant industry most notably at the former Lido Restaurant in Springfield, MA. Throughout most of her adult life, she also maintained a craft booth in numerous locations, most recently at the Eastfield Mall, fittingly named KAREN’S KORNER. After retiring she worked many years at the Big E in West Springfield at the Cream Puff Pavilion. She also spent much of her time volunteering within the community, as a former Cub Scout Den Mother, and for the Festival of Trees in Springfield where she was recently recognized with a prestigious award. Karen was a very talented artist who enjoyed crafting, antiquing, and refurbishing her many finds, many of which remain throughout the family today. She was always energetic and always on the go and loved visiting the beach, playing bingo, frequenting the casinos, camping, traveling, bowling, dancing, flower gardening, and attending the theater; but above all, she will be remembered for her open-door policy to her home and heart and as the Matriarch of her family whose greatest gifts were her love and dedication to all.

Karen was the beloved mother of Sean Charles Arpin, of Ludlow and partner Mary Kathleen Kerigan, of Palmer, and daughter Shelly Marie Davidson and husband Jeremy Alan Davidson, of Merrimack, NH; loving sister to Diane Marie Busiere, twin sister Cherie Lynne Cremonti (nee Busiere) and late husband James, and Kenneth Wayne Busiere and wife Linda; a cherished and devoted grandmother to her son’s children Jared Joseph Arpin and wife Shelby Rose, Cassandra Cherie Arpin and her beloved daughter’s children Paul Harley, Christopher Alan, Cherie Amber, and Haley Annmarie Davidson; and also leaves her former spouse and father to her children, Charles A. Arpin and his partner Maureen; her fur-babies: canines Louie, Shannon “The Fluff”, and Bella, along with felines: Max, Mittens, Sriracha, and Bella; as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Visiting hours for Karen will be held on Thursday, June 22nd from 4:00-7:00pm at Ludlow Funeral Home. Funeral services are on Friday, June 23rd at 9:00am from the funeral home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Elizabeth Parish followed by burial at St. Aloysius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Springfield Boys and Girls Club or Shriners Hospital for Children.
