John E. Ackerman III

John E. Ackerman III, age 71, of Amherst, died on Wednesday June 7th at Catholic Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Ackerman was born in Lockport, NY and attended Nashua High School as well as NHTI and New Hampshire College. He is the son of the late John E. Ackerman, Jr.

John was the husband of Joanne (Tiedeman) Ackerman. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, John E. Ackerman IV; his daughter-in-law Margaret Ackerman and their three children. Additional survivors include his mother Betty Ackerman; his brothers Charles and Thomas; and his sisters Lisa Tibando and Sallie Mercer as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was a retired software engineer most recently at Concord Group Insurance. John was a food critic, political commentator and tomato/fruit tree cultivator in his retirement years.
