George Lewis Odell Jr.

George Lewis Odell Jr. age 83 of Boynton Beach FL, passed away peacefully on May 9th 2023, following a long illness. He was born in Passaic, NJ to the late George and Estelle (Sefchick) Odell.

George is survived by his wife Lorraine (Lefebvre) Odell, his sons George Odell III of Springfield, MO and Robert Odell of Boynton Beach FL, his daughter Kelley Hewes of Cortland, New York, stepdaughters Laurie Padron and husband Alf of Plantation FL, Karen Cadieux of Delray Beach FL, Kathy McArthur and husband John of Lake Forest IL, 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

George graduated with an engineering degree from Connecticut’s Norwich Military Academy. He entered the Fire Service in the late 1960’s as a volunteer in New Jersey and later became a full-time firefighter in Nashua,NH. In the mid 1970’s, George worked with the State of New Hampshire’s Fire Marshal’s office. He later joined Kemper Insurance as a Fire Investigator. After relocating to Florida in 1982, George started A.I.D. Consulting, an investigative consulting firm to insurance companies. He specialized in fire and arson investigation.

Following his retirement in 1995, George spent a lot more time on his passions – golfing, traveling, and watching his NE Patriots during football season.
