Robert Tavares Sr.

Robert “Bob” Tavares Sr., 75, passed away while surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

He was born November 1, 1947 in Peabody, MA, son of the late Joseph, Sr. and Marjorie (Sylvester) Tavares. Bob was also predeceased by a brother, John Tavares.

Bob was a proud Army Veteran Purple Heart recipient who honorably served his country in Vietnam.

He lived the majority of his adult life in Southern New Hampshire, in order to be near his children. He had a big heart and would do anything for anyone. Bob was an avid New England sports fan and absolutely loved the Boston Bruins.

Bob enjoyed working with his hands on automotive and carpentry projects and building models, collecting DVDs, salt water fishing. He was always keeping busy, working in his yard, as he was never the type to sit still. Bob really enjoyed working with his children and grandchildren on their vehicles and passing down his knowledge.

His loving family includes his daughters, Sabrina Tavares, Christina Cantara, Melissa Tavares; his son, Robert Tavares Jr., his grandchildren, a brother, Joseph Tavares Jr., a sister, Linda Nelson, many nieces and nephews as well as his former wife Andrea Cottrell and her husband Tommy, who remained dear friends with Bob, especially over the last few months…”LET’S GO BRUINS!”
