Janet E. (McNaught) Flores

Janet E. (McNaught) Flores, loving wife of Joe G. Flores, died at the age of 72 after a long illness.

Janet was born on January 13, 1951, in Stoneham, MA, to William and Dorothy (Mulcahy) McNaught.

She was educated at the Immaculate Conception School and Girls Catholic High School in Malden, MA. She received an A.S. degree from Massachusetts Bay Community College and a B.S. degree from Salem State.

She was married to John Lavey and had three sons: Scott (Sandra) Lavey of Lynnfield, MA, William (Molly) Lavey of Quincy, MA, and Kevin Lavey of Hudson, NH. She had seven Lavey grandchildren: Kevin (Samantha), Claire, Jordan, Quinn, Nora, Liam, and Sara.

Janet met Joe, the love of her life, at Saint Kathryn’s Catholic Church, Hudson, NH, and married him in May 2003. Together with friends, they started the group SKAN at St. Kathryn’s which led them to volunteering at the Hudson Community Food Pantry until Janet’s illness.

Janet gained two more children from Joe: Katherine (Jay) Peringer of Alexandria, NH, and Daniel Flores of Manchester, NH, as well as five grandchildren: Chantelle, John (Elizabeth), Georgia, Maximus, and Aria and one great-granddaughter, Morgan.

Janet was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Alfred Menesale. She leaves behind her sisters Patricia Menesale of Concord, MA, and Catherine (Thomas) Bennett of Melrose, MA, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Janet will also be missed by Joe’s siblings with whom they frequently traveled throughout the country. Janet worked for Digital Equipment Corporation, Compuware, and retired from Raytheon Company in 2013.

Following cremation, a time of visitation will be held in Saint Kathryn’s Catholic Church, 4 Dracut Road, Hudson, NH, on Thursday, April 13th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with the Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery in Hudson, NH.
