Paul G. Martin

Mar 29, 2023

Paul G. Martin, 70, of Pittsburg, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 20, 2023, at his home. He was born in Cocoa Beach, Fla., on Sept. 20, 1952, a son to Fernand Martin and the late Doris (Poppre) Martin.

Paul grew up in southern New Hampshire. Upon graduation from UNH he worked at a horse breeding farm in Epping where he became one of the top breeders in the state for standard-bred horses.

He spent most of his career as a Finance Director at Elbit Systems of America (previously Kollsman) in Merrimack before retiring several years ago.

As an avid fisherman, an occasional hunter, and an avid wildlife enthusiast, Paul truly appreciated the outdoors and started coming to Pittsburg in the late 1990s where he spent nearly every opportunity he could enjoying the beauty of the area. He started camping in a tent at Lake Francis State Park and over the years upgraded to a pop-up camper and then to a large camper where family members would often enjoy the area with him.

While he worked in southern NH for most of his life, his heart was always in Pittsburg and he made that his home shortly before he retired, spending every weekend there and returning back to southern NH during the week until he moved up full time when he finally retired. Upon arrival, he quickly made many friends in the area who all loved Paul for his low-key nature, his warm heart and his loving smile.

He spent much of his time in his woodworking shop crafting many different items, including unique fold-up tables that he made for friends, family and an occasional customer. One of his very favorite pastimes was to take his side-by-side out on the trails every late afternoon to enjoy whatever nature had to offer that day before the sun set.

He was loved by his family and adored by friends who will always remember him as a kind soul and a wonderful man.

He is survived by his father, Fernand Martin (wife Janice Martin) of Nashua, NH; his two brothers, Glenn Martin (wife Holly Martin) of Northwood, NH and Gregg Martin (wife Leanne Martin) of Santa Ana, CA; and two sisters, Colleen Feltmate of Milton, MA (husband Frank Pelitta) and Heather Feltmate (husband Tim Bush) of Nashua, NH; along with one nephew (Ryan Martin), and five nieces (Lauren Martin, Tara Bush, Kendall Bush, Madison Lipson and Alexandra Lipson). A sixth niece, Haley Martin, predeceased him.

There are no public calling hours or services planned. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Paul may be made in his name to the Haley Rae Martin Scholarship & Mural fund at the Kimball Jenkins School of Art, 266 North Main St., Concord, NH 03301; or online at www.KimballJenkins.com/haley-rae-martin-mural-project.
