Marilyn Christine (Carlen) Sheridan
Mrs. Marilyn Christine (Carlen) Sheridan, a long time resident of Dunstable, MA died March 3, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital.
Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Mr. William B. Sheridan and her daughter, Christine M. Sheridan of Nashua, NH.
Born in Worcester, MA on November 3, 1929, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Mildred (Mangsen) Carlen.
She was a graduate of Dracut High School with the class of 1947 and received a Bachelors of Education from Lowell State College in 1951. She earned her Masters of Education from Rivier College. Marilyn was employed with the town of Tewksbury as an elementary school teacher from 1957-1961, and with the town of Westford as an elementary school teacher at Nabnasett Elementary, Frost Elementary and Norman E. Day School before retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Westford Teacher’s Association.
Marilyn was an avid tennis enthusiast and player and was a member United States Tennis Association and Nashua Swim and Tennis Club. She was active in the community, volunteering with Meals on Wheels and the Dunstable Senior Center where she conducted Bone Builder classes.
During her retirement Marilyn traveled to Europe and Africa and enjoyed spending winters in Florida. She also enjoyed her summers by her swimming pool spending time with her family and friends.
Besides her husband she, is survived by a son and his wife, William and Lynn (Luddy) Sheridan of Lisbon, NH, two daughters, Jane Sheridan of Dunstable and Anne Callan of Virginia Beach, VA, two brothers and their wives, James and Joan Carlen of Hudson, NH and John and Patricia Carlen of Tombstone, AZ, a sister Milderd Mulno of Tewksbury, nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
