Frederick G. Douglas III

Frederick G. Douglas III, 40, lifelong resident of Lyndeborough, NH went to his Heavenly Home from his earthly home, peacefully on March 1, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born to Lynda (Bates) and Frederick G. Douglas Jr. on February 3, 1983.

Freddi was born with cerebral palsy. He attended Schoolhouse daycare in Milford, which was the first day care in NH to include special needs children. There he was blessed with a great experience in the inclusionary setting. Then he was included in Lyndeborough elementary school, up until 6th grade, where he transitioned to DAY school at Crotched Mountain School, in Greenfield daily until he turned 21.

We were fortunate to care for him in our home until he passed. We were supported by many family members, friends and nurses so we could keep him home with us, happy and healthy.

Freddi was well known for his wonderful smile, great personality, and his smiley Mylar balloon he always had with him. There were times, people we didn’t even know, would come to us in a store, with a BIG smile and Say “HI FREDDI” and then introduce themselves to us. He enjoyed church with friends, music and socialization every Sunday for years.

Survivors include his loving parents of Lyndeborough, his uncle Bryan and his wife Kim Bates of Milford, NH, his aunts, Charlotte Janowiec of Milford, NH, Sandra Kiewra of NY, Donna Abbott of FL, his uncle Daniel Douglas of SC, Freddi’s best friend Meghan Morin and several loving cousins.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 63 Elm Street, Milford, NH 03055. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at the Burns Hill Christian Fellowship at 11:00.
