Virginia L. Smith
Virginia L. Smith, 92, of Bradenton, Florida, a native of Hudson, NH, formerly of Nashua, NH, and Salem, NH, died peacefully February 10, 2023.
Born August 2, 1930, and raised in Hudson, Ginny was the only child of Doris and Edward Lyon. She attended Nashua High School and subsequently graduated from Westbrook Junior College in Maine. As a young woman, Ginny was past president of the Nashua Junior Women’s Club and served as the New Hampshire Director of Junior Clubs, GFWC from 1968 through 1970.
She and her first husband, Edwin T. Lowe, raised their family in Nashua and spent summers at the family camp on Lake Winnipesaukee.
Ginny and her second husband, Mason Smith, married in 1978, settling in Salem, NH. The couple owned and operated The Dollar Saver advertising circular for several years before moving to Florida. Ginny and Mason enjoyed many happy years in their home on beautiful Anna Maria Island. Ginny was predeceased by Mason in September, 2015.
Ginny is survived by her three children: Thomas (Kristin) Lowe of Mont Vernon, NH, Russell (Sarah) Lowe of Fitchburg, MA, and Barbara (Brian) Rodgers of Springfield, NH. She adored her grandchildren: Michael (Tara) Rodgers, Megan (Hakeem) Trotman, Ryan (Kayla) Lowe, Courtney Davis, Lindsay Rodgers, Patrick (Lauren) Rodgers, and Rebecca Lowe. She will also be missed by Mason’s daughters, Pamela Burns of Amesbury, MA, and Cathi (John) Arbour of Durham, ME, and grandson Brendan Glass (Haley LaGrange). She was blessed with six great-grandchildren: Ella Rodgers, Lily and Connor Davis, Julian Lowe, Brooklyn Trotman, and Elijah Lowe.
