Doreen Marie Mercier, 76, died peacefully on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center surrounded by her three loving sons. She was the beloved wife of the late Jacques “Jack” R. Mercier with whom she shared 45 years of marriage prior to his passing in August of 2020.

Doreen was born in Augusta, Maine on July 20, 1946 and was the daughter of the late James and Vivian (Stonier) Gordon. She received her education in the Maine School System and continued her education and graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Gorham State Teacher’s College.

For 35 years, Doreen was employed by the Windham School System at Windham Elementary School until her retirement. Following her retirement, she was employed as a travel agent for Dream Travel in Hudson; which was a job she thoroughly enjoyed doing.

In her free time, she enjoyed traveling especially to destinations in Florida and many trips to Disney World when her children were younger. Doreen loved time spent by water, whether it was beach trips or pool time. She loved soaking up that summertime sun. Doreen also enjoyed watching various TV programs but her daily Soap Operas (All My Children) during 80s and 90s were her favorite. She was an avid animal lover and her dogs – Muffin, Ewok, Domino, Speckles had the best life a dog could have in Doreen’s care, Milo will miss her deeply. Above all, her most cherished time was spent with her loving family and she loved to spoil her grandchildren. She also sneezed so loud you could hear it from the moon and we loved her for it as much as we teased her about it.

Doreen is survived by her three sons, Kevin Mercier and his wife Kenda Kecker of Minnesota, Eric Mercier and his wife Rugi of Nashua, and Jeffrey Mercier of Nashua; her five grandchildren, Eamon, Sierra, Alexa, Jullia, and Aiden; as well as her brother Brian Gordon and his wife Amy of Kentucky and many friends and former colleagues.
