Claire M. Raymond

Claire M. Raymond, 91, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the Inn at Fairview surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Normand “Spike” Raymond with whom she shared 56 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2014.

Claire was born on Verona Street in Nashua, NH on September 9, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Hubert and Lillian (Jean) Brodeur. She lost her parents at a young age and was welcomed with open arms and lovingly adopted by the late Robert and Lucienne (Jean) Soucy. She was educated at the St. Louis de Gonzague school.

In her younger years, she was employed at Soucy’s Market on W. Hollis Street and then later at Bronze Craft and Crosby’s Bakery in Nashua. She used to be an avid roller skater at the Hi-Hat Roll-A-Way in Lowell, MA, with friends, including her best friend and maid of honor, Lareine Marquis.

In her free time, she enjoyed reading, playing cards, doing puzzles, watching movies and ice skating. She also enjoyed spending her summers “at Memere’s pool” and at the Seabrook beach house. She also enjoyed traveling and cruises to Bermuda and Mexico. Claire was also an avid Red Sox fan!

Claire is survived by her two children, Sandra Inzer and her husband Whit of Barrington and Thomas Raymond of Nashua; her brother Donald Soucy and his wife Delores “Dolly” of Nashua; her sisters-in-law Bernadette Brodeur of Nashua, Pauline Chaput of Lowell, MA, Carol Raymond of Wolfeboro, and brother-in-law Charles Marcel “Buddy” Raymond of Merrimack, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by four of her brothers, Armand Brodeur, Roger Brodeur, Hubert “Bert” Chaput, and Claude Brodeur.

A great thank you goes to the exceptional, expertly trained and compassionate caregivers at the Inn at Fairview, Hudson, NH, and Home Health & Hospice Care, Merrimack, NH, for being present and assuring that she received the best care possible to enjoy her golden years.
