William L. Andrews Jr.

William L. Andrews Jr., 89 passed away on November 24, 2022.

Born in Haverhill, MA on May 15, 1933 he was the son of William and Gertrude (DeMeritt) Andrews.

Bill was a longtime resident of Hudson, NH, and worked as an electrical engineer and manager for many years, retiring from Sanders Assoc./BAE Systems in Nashua, NH.

An avid golfer, Bill was an active member at Nashua Country Club in earlier years, and at Portsmouth Country Club during his retirement. He was also an employee of PCC for many years. Bill truly enjoyed spending time on the course with his wife Betty, his sons Billy and Rob, and his grandchildren Griffin, Taylor, Tim, Donny, and Bradley. As recently as last summer, at the age of 88, Bill participated in a local charity event with Rob, Tim, and Donny where he made a birdie putt on the final hole to secure the championship win for their team.

One of Bill’s favorite places to be was at the lake, spending time cruising on the pontoon boat with family and friends. His daughter, Kathy and her family were frequent visitors during those times.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Elizabeth (Weigel) Andrews, children William Andrews, III, Robert Andrews, and Kathy Colburn. Eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive him.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, December 1, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State Street, Portsmouth, NH. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Richard D. McDonough Golf Scholarship Foundation, 61 North Street, Manchester, NH 03104.
