Morris Gwynn Nicholson

Morris Gwynn Nicholson, born June 2, 1942, passed away peacefully after a long illness, on November 21, 2022, at the age of 80, in Sun City West, Arizona. Morris, who grew up in the suburbs of Boston, retired as an attorney in 2002; he moved to Arizona from Merrimack, New Hampshire in 2013.

Morris was preceded in death by parents, Morris and Marjorie, and brother, David Nicholson.

He is survived by wife Karen Nicholson, son John Nicholson and his wife, Sharron, and their son, Shawn (Brookline), son Mark Nicholson and his son, Ryan (Andover, Massachusetts), daughter Kelly Nicholson (Newmarket) and her son, Alex Jaworski, and son Matthew Nicholson and his wife, Elle (New York).

Known as Moe or Nick to his friends, Morris earned his bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degrees at the University of Notre Dame, and was a life-long fan of Fighting Irish football. He was an avid skier, volunteering as ski patrolman at Pat’s Peak mountain for many years, and an accomplished distance runner.

After his retirement from law, he refereed youth soccer, basketball, football and lacrosse all over New England. He also loved traveling by cruise ship, visiting numerous ports of call, from the Caribbean to Alaska.
