Carol Rudman
Carol Rudman, formerly of Nashua, NH, passed away on
November 8th in Washington D.C. at the age of 86 after a
brief illness. After graduating from Dana Hall School in
Wellesley Massachusetts, Ms. Rudman completed her
education at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor,
obtaining a degree in political science. In her early career,
she worked as the personal assistant to syndicated
cartoonist Al Capp, forging what was a life-long friendship.
She also taught French at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High
School in Sudbury, MA. Ms. Rudman then embarked in a
long career with the State Department, where she served
overseas in the U.S. embassies in Paris and Brussels
before finishing her career at the Department of
Commerce in Washington, D.C. Over the course of her
50-plus year government career, she received numerous
awards and commendations for her outstanding service.
In her private life Ms. Rudman, who was an accomplished
flautist, enjoyed classical musical performances at the
Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and visiting the
various museums in Washington D.C. She was also a
member of the National Press Club. She was predeceased
by her parents, Edward and Theresa Rudman of
Nashua, NH, and her brother, the the late U.S. Senator
Warren B. Rudman (R-NH). Ms. Rudman is survived by
her sister Jean Gale of Kittery, Maine, and numerous
nieces and nephews. A private service for immediate
family and friends was held at the Beth Abraham
Cemetery in Nashua, NH.
