Lillian A. (Lozeau) (Constant) Worcester, 93, of Nashua, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at Fairview Nursing Home, Hudson, New Hampshire, on Friday, Oct. 28, 2022.
Born in Nashua on Oct. 25, 1929, Lillian was the daughter of the late Euchariste and Elphema (Heroux) Lozeau. Educated in the Nashua school system, she graduated from Presentation of Mary Academy, Hudson, in 1947, after which she enrolled in the nursing program of St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, graduating with the class of 1950 and receiving her RN licensure a few months later. She worked for many years in nursing at St. Joseph’s Hospital in various capacities. She was a pediatric nurse, a nurse in a physician’s office, a clinical instructor at the school of nursing and assistant to the nursing service director at the hospital. She eventually joined Ingersoll-Rand Co. as an occupational health nurse from 1974 until her retirement in 1992. Even after retirement, she kept her hand in the occupational health field, working part-time for Anheuser-Busch Inc. for a couple years. She was a member of the New Hampshire State Nurses Assoc. and the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses.Lillian earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology from New England College, Henniker, New Hampshire, in 1985. While at Ingersoll-Rand, she received the National Scripp award for the New Hampshire Occupational Health Nurse of the Year.
Lillian was a very active, loving, vibrant and family-oriented person who enjoyed traveling, reading, home projects and gardening, especially during her retirement years. She also was a longtime devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Nashua.
Lillian is survived by her children, her son, David Constant and his wife, Elizabeth, of Fort Mill, South Carolina; her daughter, Linda Hey and her husband, Dennis, Bailey of Milford, New Hampshire; her son, Thomas Constant and his wife, Deborah, of Niceville, Florida; her step-son, Daniel Worcester of Claremont, New Hampshire; and step-daughter, Deborah Gifford of Manchester, New Hampshire; her grandchildren, Curtis Constant and his wife, Amy; Nyra Cunningham and her husband, Jesse; Jason Hey and his wife, Taylor; Adam Hey and Megan Baldwin; Joshua Hey and his wife, Jennifer; Austin Constant and his fiancé, Jessica Fleming; Kaycie Constant; her great-grandchildren, Nola and Clayton Constant; her sister-in-law, Phyllis Lozeau, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Philbrook Worcester, (in 2004); her siblings and their spouses, Edgar and Rachel Lozeau, Claire (Lozeau) and Claude Nichols; Albert and Katherine Lozeau, Aurele and Lucille Lozeau, Ernest and Marjorie Lozeau, Raymond and Lorraine Lozeau, Robert Lozeau, Yvonne (Lozeau) and Daniel Doyle; and her first husband, Raymond Constant.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, Nov. 7 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Parish, 216 E. Dunstable Road, Nashua. Her funeral Mass will be on Monday, Nov. 7, 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Parish. Her interment will follow at St. Louis de Gonzague Cemetery, 752 W. Hollis St., Nashua.
