The Rev. Patricia Ellen Henking

The Rev. Patricia Ellen Henking, 67, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022 unexpectedly of high-grade tubo-ovarian cancer. Born Oct. 8, 1954, in Darby, Pennsylvania, to Betty (Sinclair) Henking and George A. Henking.
Patricia received her degrees from Rensselar Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York; General Theological Seminary, New York, New York; and Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts, where she studied with Professor Elie Wiesel. Pat also studied with President Jimmy Carter at the Marantha Baptist Church Sunday School program, Plains, Georgia.
Patricia was ordained an Episcopal priest on Dec. 6, 1980, (The Feast of Saint Nicholas) at St. Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church, Falmouth, Maine. She then served as chaplain to Dartmouth College, New Hampshire; appointed as Vicar of Faith Episcopal Church, Merrimack, New Hampshire, 1988 to August 2022.
Patricia served as an adjunct professor at Notre Dame College’s graduate program (Manchester), Nashua Community College and St. Anselm College.
She served as the president of the Episcopal Standing Committee in New Hampshire and on the Commission on Ministry in both Maine and New Hampshire. Pat was a board member for Four Directions Outreach.
Pat loved helping others and participated in several Habitat for Humanity build trips, including Northern Ireland and Thibodeaux, Louisiana, for Hurricane Katrina.
Patricia is survived by her loving partner of 25 years, Lise Mailloux; the immediate/extended Mailloux/Michaud family; her sister, Susan Henking and partner, Betty Bayer, of Geneva, New York; the extended Sinclair family; special friends, members of the Episcopal Community, especially the Faith Episcopal Church family of Merrimack.
Patricia’s service will be celebrated by her bishop, the Rt. Rev. A. Robert Hirschfeld and her special friend, the Rev. Teresa Payne Gocha. The service will take place at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 21 Centre St., Concord, NH on Saturday, Oct. 29th, 2022, at 3 p.m.
For family and friends she left behind – the abundance of special memories, intelligence, kindness, giving spirit will resonate – Pat always will be in our hearts!
