Georgette Therese (Clermont) Venne

Oct 19, 2022

Georgette Therese (Clermont) Venne was born June 18, 1928, in Lowell Massachusetts, the oldest daughter of William and Bertha Soucy Clermont. She married the love of her life, Leo Camille Venne, on Oct. 6, 1945, during World War II. Together they built a life in Center Barnstead and Pelham, New Hampshire. Upon retirement, they built their dream home in New Port Richey, Florida. Leo died from cancer in 1997. As a widow, she lived in New Port Richey, Florida, Leesburg and Ashburn, Virginia, and Nashua, New Hampshire. She was a communicant of St. Louis de Gonzague parish in Nashua.

Georgette worked in the historic Boot Mill factories of Lowell, along with her siblings. Once married, she continued her career working in various shoe mills in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and later worked at Western Electric/AT&T’s facility in Andover, Massachusetts, for more than 32 years. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of American Legion Post 42. She once was a top New England women bowler and was a member of the National Women’s Bowling Assoc., NWBA. She served on the board of both the Massachusetts and Nashua Women’s Bowling Associations board of directors. She became the first female certified bowling instructor at Nashua Ten Pin. She organized and taught many children and served as secretary for many leagues. She also served as president for the Women of the Moose Lodge in New Port Richey.

Georgette had many interests, including vacationing with her family. She was an incredible cook who enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Everyone will miss her holiday meals, but especially her peanut butter fudge. Her favorite hobby was attending bingo every Friday night with her siblings at Holt Hall in Hudson, New Hampshire, and playing slots at Foxwoods. She was a very lucky gambler! During her life, she enjoyed sending birthday cards to every grand, great- and great-great grandchild who lives across the country. It was her way of being connected with all of them … even those she never met.

Georgette is survived by her children, Lucille Harnden and husband, Francis, of Utah, Paul Venne and his wife, Lien Chi, of Virginia, and Carmen Lesieur and her husband, Steven, of New Hampshire; along with her nine grandchildren, Paula Marie Farrer, Shauna Johnson, Francis Harnden II, Leanne Browder, Paul Venne Jr, Kim Hawthorn, Lynn Lesieur, Abbie Lunsford and Brian Lesieur, and their spouses; and 19 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren. She also is survived by her sister, Doris Matte; sister, Antoinette Boucher and her husband, Rudoph; her brother, George Clermont and his wife, Dorothy; and her sister-in-law, Pauline Clermont; along with many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends will be received on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022, from 2-5 p.m. at the TYNGSBOROUGH FUNERAL HOME, 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsborough.
