Aug 20, 2022

Wilma J. Bates, 87, of Wilton, New Hampshire, graduated to heaven on June 26, 2022. Born on Jan. 17, 1935, in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Wilma was married to the love of her life, Richard S. Bates Sr., and spent most of their life in Milford, New Hampshire.

Wilma had many jobs after raising a wonderful family – Bradlee’s, IGA, Kenmore Stamp Co., for 20 years, and served as a part-time receptionist at Milford Police Department, until she retired at age 82. Wilma had many passions in her life – her family, Swedish weaving projects for everyone for 30 years and praying for everyone she knew, were at the top of her list.

Wilma will be remembered for her lovely smiles, joyful nature and her beautiful spirit. Wilma was a member at Burns Hill Christian Fellowship, 419 Elm St. Milford, where we will celebrate Wilma’s life, on Aug. 27, 2022, at noon. Wilma loved pink ANYTHING, so wear something PINK if you wish.

She was preceded in death by Richard Bates Sr., Richard Bates Jr. and her brother, Wyatte Trevena.

Wilma is survived by her son, Bryan and wife, Kimberly; daughter, Lynda and husband, Fred Douglas; grandchildren, Shawna and her husband, Philip Alexander; Freddi Douglas III; Benjamin Bates; Victoria and her husband, Russell Austin; Elkanah and his wife, Jackie Bates; and eight great-grandbabies, all of whom she was so proud of; and her sister-in-law, Karin Trevena; nephew, Eric Trevena; and nieces, Michelle Meeh and Julie Lang.
