Pauline A. (Tanguay) Daley

Pauline A. (Tanguay) Daley, 87, of Nashua, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 28, 2022. Born on Sept. 11, 1934, in Nashua, she was the daughter of the late Ulric and Yvonne (Robert) Tanguay.

Pauline grew up in Nashua, where she earned an associate’s degree in business from Hesser College. She began her career teaching music at the Nashua Music Center, eventually opening her own studio, where she continued teaching piano, guitar, accordion and bass lessons for more than 50 years. She enjoyed a variety of performance opportunities in which she played multiple instruments and, in 1963, led the Pauline Tanguay Orchestra as the back-up band for Gene Pitney. More recently, she recorded with acoustic trio City of Roses. She was a businesswoman and entrepreneur who brought ballroom dancing to Manchester as co-owner of The Red Carpet. A prolific pastel artist, her work was featured in local venues and exhibits. Pauline was an avid photographer, who loved exploring the New Hampshire coast, vacationing in Ogunquit, Maine, attending classic car shows and relaxing at home with family.

She is survived by her daughters, Michelle (Daley) Tanguay and wife, Linda Picceri, Laurie Daley and husband, Chris Miele; brothers, Normand Tanguay and wife, Diane, Richard Tanguay and wife, Donna; brother-in-law William Stocking; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her sisters, Yvette Stocking and Claire Tanguay.

A celebration of life will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022, at Zis-Sweeney & St. Laurent Funeral Home, located at 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022, at Zis-Sweeney & St. Laurent Funeral Home, followed by a burial at St. Louis De Gonzague Cemetery, located at 752 W. Hollis St., Nashua.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at Zis-Sweeney and St. Laurent Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Visiting Nurse Association of Manchester and Southern New Hampshire.
