Raymond Higgins

Jul 2, 2022

Raymond Higgins, 73, passed away in his sleep, comforted by close family and friends on June 9, 2022.

Ray was a great storyteller, often reflecting on his childhood in Lowell, Massachusetts, his younger days working at Skyworks as an accountant and living on the lake and being a dad. He often doted about his grandson Noah’s dance moves and granddaughter Emma’s chats.

Ray loved people, whether gathering for holidays or road trips and camping. Spending time with friends and family was the most important part of his life. The memories sustained him throughout the ups and downs.

Ray spent his final years in New York, mostly living in Valley Cottage, nestled in the woods. He especially enjoyed sitting outside watching wildlife, cheering on New England teams, listening to music, pizza dance parties, making friends, practicing his Catholic faith and time with his favorite German Shepherd.

Thanks to all far and wide whom created memories with Ray. His endless stories about many adventures gave him joy, from Woodstock to helping on a farm – too many moments to count when he was happy.

Ray’s vibrant spirit will forever live on as a dancing machine in videos. And the song he had God spontaneously play at his passing when we turned on the radio, “Weekend in New England.”

A beautiful Catholic service followed Ray’s passing. His ashes interned with his parents, Raymond Sr. and Barbara, and brother, George at St. Patrick’s in Lowell.

God Bless you uncle, forever in our hearts.
