David Blanchette

Jun 29, 2022

David Blanchette, 72, of Merrimack and Sarasota, Florida, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 25, 2022. Born on Nov. 7, 1949, in Marlborough, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Ralph and Florence (St. George) Blanchette.

David was a longtime employee of the Verizon telephone company, and retired from the organization after a long and fulfilling career. David enjoyed hanging out with the neighborhood gang (Glen and Paul) at the beach on Lake Naticook, going hunting with his brother-in-law, John, at the camp in Canaan, New Hampshire, enjoying a round of golf with his good friends (not that he played well at all), or grabbing a Tito’s with his good friend, Artie.

However, his favorite thing to do was to spend quality time with his daughter and grandchildren, whether it was camping or just hanging around the home and lake. The loss of his presence in our family and in our small tight neighborhood community will surely be felt, as he was loved and respected by his family, friends and neighbors.

David is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carol (Gosselin) Blanchette; daughter, Jessica Martin and her husband Michael; grandsons, Nikolas, Mikael, Jakoby and Zakary Martin; step-grandsons, Joshua and Benjamin Martin; granddaughter, Tia Ribeiro; sisters, Madeleine Bisset and her husband John, Fern Bouley, Eva Blanchette and her partner, Carmella; mother-in-law, Irene Gosselin; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son, David Blanchette Jr.; sister, Jeannette Faulkner; and brother, Ralph Blanchette.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2002, from 4-8 p.m. at Zis-Sweeney & St. Laurent Funeral Home, located at 26 Kinsley St., Nashua. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at 10 a.m. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, located at 708 Milford Road, Merrimack, with burial to follow at Saint Louis De Gonzague Cemetery, located at 752 W. Hollis St., Nashua. A celebration of life will be held on the lake on Wednesday after services.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ZisSweeneyFuneralHome.com for the Blanchette family.
